Make Login Screen Show All Users Without Scrolling

I have several Windows 8.1 computers with more than 8 user accounts in a small business environment. At the login screen, you have to scroll to the right to see some of the user names. How can I either make the user login icons smaller so that they all fit on a single screen, or make them show in multiple rows so they all fit on one screen?

I'm running 8.1 with multiple users as well, I'll go take a look and see if I can find anything for you.

Update: I searched the Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc), the Local Security Policy (secpol.exe), and a little web-surfing, but came out with nothing to help. I'm sorry, I tried the best I could!

Just a point of clarification. It's the Home version of Windows 8, so Group Policy and Local Security Policy are not available to me. They're only on the Professional versions. Thanks for looking though. Hopefully somebody out there has resolved this issue. This is just one more reason to love (that's sarcasm) Windows 8.

You really need to go with the Pro version, not the home version for the Business. It is not that much to get the upgrade from home to pro. You may want to look at using either RFID or a Fingerprint scanner for users. That way they do not need to scroll through to find their login.

You should still be able to edit the Registry in home as you could with Windows 7. To have last user removed from the login screen.

See this for how to change the Lock & Login Screens to a personalized screen. Windows 8 - Changing Your Lock and Login Screens
This is for Windows 7, but should still work with Windows 8. Size of Icons on Welcome Screen - Windows 7 Help Forums

Believe me, if I could get them to switch to a Pro version of Windows, I would. It's a small business that grew using computer suggestions from one of the folks that work there that knew how to use a home computer. All before I got on the scene.

Anyway, thanks for the suggestions. None of them resolved the issue though. I could change the system login screen icon size using regedit, but that effects all icons everywhere. The article you mentioned on Windows 8 (from the University of Wisconsin) was informative though. I learned that the space needle graphic is used as both the user lock screen and the system lock screen, and how to change them if need be. Interesting.
