So I tried full system restore in Windows 8 yesterday. The screen went blank after a few seconds and it stayed like that for a minute or so. I figured it stopped working so I decided to just restart from the built-in recovery partition. Note that I have a SSD with the OS can recovery partitions, and a HDD with a bunch of data (which is backed up)
It's really annoying how pc makers now don't include those recovery disks with their computers anymore. Even more annoying is how they only work with that computer... seems pretty stuck up to me. Man when I was on my Mac I thought about how a PC would be so much faster... now I'm starting to think I should've gotten an iMac or something with a really fast GPU.
Guys it's a single DVD... actually probably not even that. They could just make it download most of it off a Microsoft server
Anyway, I tried booting into my bootable partition manager, my old windows 7 disk... nothing has worked yet. It seems 3/4 times I try restoring windows 8, the computer refuses to boot at all (until I get recovery media)
Man I hate this UEFI thing. Pretty icons are useless if they never show up when they need to.
