i h8 win 8

since using this new laptop i got for christmas its done my head in every day,i wished i kept my old lappy with win 7.
every day when i boot up i either have to wait ages for it to boot up & when it does boot up i cant connect to the internet straight away via wifi i've left it on for a few hours at one time and it still would'nt connect to internet,i know its not my router or internet connection as theres many devices in my house that use the wifi and all them work fine.i did once phone my isp & they said my wireless card needed to be updated.

its not just slow at starting up & connecting to my wifi,some times when i try to run programes i just get no responce at all & a lot of time browsing i get not responding a lot also shutting down 50% of the time i have to force shut down by keeping power button pressed for 5 seconds.

i do feel like throwing the thing up against the wall,has any 1 els suffered the same as me if so have you found cure's if so what are they ?

i will be very grateful for any replys & help,thanks in advance

I think I would have taken this notebook back to the place I bought it the first week I got it and either gotten a working model or my money back.
If it was working good when you first got it then it probably has to do with software you installed. In that case restore to factory condition there should be a procedure in your manual.
Restore a Image that you created before the problems started.
If all that fails RMA
Have you been on the manufactures forum for idea's, you could be having a hardware problems?

no it's been like this from day 1,it was hard enough getting used to win 8 with out having the laptop playing up.
well laptop is still under warrenty so might think about taking it back to where it was bought for either new 1 or different model i do know my consumer rights & will not accept it to be repaired.
i just thought the trouble i'm having might have been down to the os but seem not but thanks for your reply clintlgm.

Try removing Norton with their removal tool and see how the laptop performs, use Windows Defender for security.

do i need to download nortons removal tool or will i all ready have it installed ?
i've looked through nortons its self but cant see it

It's not "just the OS". Windows 8 is not designed to run this way, nor does it plague many of us with these types of problems. If I were you, I'd backup your data, use your recovery option to put it back to the day you got it and then see if the problem persists. If so, start uninstalling things and try to clean it up a bit and see if your problems go away.

i just downloaded nortons removal tool and when i execute it naff all happens,u see little blue circle spin but then nothing

Well it could be an OS and driver problems, however you purchase a working computer that's what you should have gotten. Most vendors have a very short return period hopefully you haven't exceeded yours.

upgrade to 8.1

Hi Rubixs,
Upgrade to 8.1, via the store, and then go to desktop click on your toolbar, and set as in screenshot, to make it more like W7.

8.1 is basically a new OS.

hopefully this should clear up most of your problems
