the discussion is going way off-tangent right now. none of the responses match what i was trying to ask.

let me try to explain again.

typically, i have Chrome and many other background apps launching on startup. Note that Chrome is the only app that launches in the foreground + maximized. All other apps are loaded @ tray area.

By Activating focus to Chrome, i mean I can immediately type on the search bar WITHOUT me having to click on the search bar FIRST.

if focus is achieved, the blinking text cursor would be on the search bar, but it isn't.

this behavior is only on my desktop, but not my laptop (whose focus is already on Chrome).
