Am getting a few persistent problems with this OS on the laptop like dropping saved password ID's etc and changing the format of the forum window and the latest is trying to download the latest Adobe Reader update it keeps asking me to open it with something.
Whatever happened to the good old run or save why do I have to open it with something.
If the problems keep happening I am going back to my old 7 system despite 8.1 being faster etc.

Control Panel/Default Programs/set Associations, probably can't figure out if you want to open a desktop program or Metro App,
Also could be a zipped file that needs a program to unzip?
The formatting would have to do with the App setting or Theme setting for desktop
password an ID for websites are still in the IE Settings you just need to check the box to save them.

  1. Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Internet Explorer icon on the taskbar.
  2. Click the Tools button

, and then tap or click Internet options.
  3. On the Content tab, under AutoComplete, tap or click Settings.
  4. Clear the User names and passwords on forms check box, and then tap or click OK.
