Where is the recently opened programs list in Windows 8.1?

Hi ElTron, welcome to Windows EightForums! :)
There should be a link in Explorer's navigation pane under Favorites. If not, navigate to C:\Users\your name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows.

(You'll need to show hidden files and folders in Control Panel/Folder Options)

Thanks, but this is a recently opened files list. It is useful but it isn't a recently opened programs list.

If you install a Start button program like Stardock's Start8 and maybe Classic Shell (free) then the recently used program list is off the Start button where it's always been.

Thank you. These third-party programs seem useful. In all case, they are too complex. I search a simpler shortcut or something like that.

If you care to try this, perhaps, this is the Windows 811 version of recent programs usage.

It implies to go to the menu Metro and to sort by "most used". It is ok but loo long (too much clicks). I mean, once you have gone to the Metro menu perhaps it is simpler to open directly the app you need.

Yes, I don't know if you like the metro menu, but yes. That is what pin to start is for.
Once you find your programs in apps view, then pin to start or run from apps view.
(or pin to taskbar - whatever you prefer) Whatever you find easier.

Btw, once the sort is set, it stays until you change the sort method. (from apps view (ctrl -) Ctrl Minus

The two I mentioned are neither complex nor intrusive. They just give you back the Start button which gives you back what the Start button always had.

Good luck finding a simpler way though. It will be interesting to see what is found.
