Solved No clock or notification icons after reinstall

I have just reinstalled window 8 (was on 8.1 but haven't even though about how or whether to move up) and there are no notification icons (despite them all being ticked in control panel) and no clock (despite that being ticked as show).

Can anyone help?

Keep checking for updates and rebooting.

you can try resetting your windows.
either not fully installed or corrupted somewhere.
