Wow, there sure is a lot of hate about the new Metro interface on the web. I might be the only person that likes it. I don't know what everyone is complaining about, except that people hate change. Not that I think it's perfect, it has some issues, but for the most part, it's really fun to use. I like that I can put all my apps and shortcuts on the start screen and access them quickly, and I like the way it looks. There are only a few things I don't like about it so far:

Running multiple applications is pretty much impossible. If I want a browser in the middle for research, a word processor on the right to copy and paste, and a chat window on the left to collaborate; it can't be done. I could see how it could be done with Metro, but they haven't implemented anything for multitasking so far.

When I add shortcuts to Windows Explorer, Music, Pictures and Videos they show up as icons rather than Metro tiles and clicking them takes me to the Windows 7 desktop with a whole different paradigm and look. This is jarring; I wish they would choose one or the other instead of having two desktops.

You guys can shoot me if you want, but I kinda like it.

    You're not the only one.

I'm not sure what people are complaining about either. In fact, most of the most intense criticism (that gets into specifics) doesn't even strike me as true... it's like they haven't given it a chance or really tried to see things using the new concepts. If you try to use something new in exactly the same way as an old thing (with a different paradigm), of course you're going to get frustrated. This isn't just change for change's sake, there are real benefits... even for desktop users without touch.

I agree i think metro is an intuitive idea but i think it needs some more work.

i would like to see more of a seamless transition between aero and metro more html 5 as well like when i try to watch some videos in YouTube it doesn't always play all the videos it complains it doesn't recognize the video format but if i play it in IE10 it works. Multiple apps can be run if you move your mouse to the left side of the screen you'll see what i mean but yes it isn't very efficient i'll agree to that though. I am running on a dual monitor setup works great so far once you get used to it at first it was a major shock but now i kinda like it something new and fresh i think.

I think something like live tiles would be cool where tiles could contain running applications and you could tile all those applications around the screen and easily share information between all those tiles.
