Windows 8.1 Update 1 Bug: The start button is locked .

The start button is locked (clicking does not open Metro)


Hello Friends.
Since installing the update 1, I have a random problem: when I click on the start button, it does not respond.
The solution? Log off or restart the computer.


It's strange, because without the update, I did not have this problem.


Could anyone help?

Do you have any 3rd party Start Menu program installed that may have an option to disable the Start button?

I installed the update, prior to the launch from Windows Update.
There were several update files, which should be installed in a specific order.
I respected that order, and the update was installed correctly.
That's when I noticed this problem. Then I uninstalled the update, and waited to release it by Windows Update.
Finally, I installed this update through Windows Update, and I again I have the same problem.

I do not want to reinstall, but it seems that there are no options.

To try and avoid reinstalling, you might see if troubleshooting with a clean boot may reveal a culprit through the process of elimination.
