Hello all,

I would be very grateful for some help with the following issue.

Yesterday I was playing Batman Arkham City and my computer crashed. When I logged back in, I was presented with a black screen.

I did some research about how to solve the problem. I started the computer in safe mode, disabled both the nvidea and the intel graphics cards, uninstalled both and reinstalled the latest drivers (both were already up to date). I then thought the problem was solved, but today I had the same problem, this time when I wasn't doing anything with the laptop. I left it on, went out, came back home and it was off. I booted it up and it was a black screen again. So it looks like a recurrent issue, and I'm not sure what to do about it.

All of the advice I've seen for the black screen problem relates to people who had the problem after updating to windows 8.1 My update went fine and everything was running perfectly until after the crash yesterday. Now there are these problems.

Can anyone give me advice as to how I can fix this problem for good?

I am running an ASUS laptop with windows 8.1 64 bit and an NVIDEA Geforce 750m video card.

Thanks in advance for any help you all can give me. :)

Just to update, I reinstalled the drivers for the nvidia graphics card again and now the computer is stuck at the black screen again except in safe mode.
