Random hard freezing, not sure why.

Hey there folks, I've skimmed the forums and didn't see much that fit the issue i'm having. I bought a Asus g750 about two weeks ago. Three days after getting it up and running my laptop will hard freeze randomly about once every 1-2 days. It doesn't seem to be a hardware issue. I've ran a stress test on both the CPU and the GPU, both seemed to fall in normal ranges. The hard freeze typically occurs when I'm not doing anything heavy. Mostly when I am just sitting around typing on skype or doing homework while listening to spotify.

It is under warranty I could send it back. However, I cannot afford to lose it before this semester is over. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As I don't have to tell you, a system that's two weeks old should not be freezing up. However, a couple or three questions:

Have you added any new software? Been surfing the Internet? Clicked on anything that pops up to say you need to "install this or uninstall that"? Been somewhere on the Internet that didn't look safe, so you backed out? And, finally, been somewhere you maybe shouldn't have? Like to get a deal on software that's just too good to be true . . . You'd be surprised how many folks fall for this one.

Have you been to the Asus site? ASUS Click on Support and it will take you to ASUS Service | North America

I went there and it seems I need to Login or Register before I can get help, so it looks like it's up to you. BTW, from what I see, this is a pretty nice rig (came up on the Asus home page slide show).

I did notice that there's a chat feature in the service section, so that may be an option.

I have not installed anything out of the ordinary. Office 2010 from my school, spybot, steam, spotify and chrome. How ever I did run into the Startpage hijacker last sunday, but the hard freezes were happening well before then. I did install a SSD the day I got it. The laptop did not come with the os or recovery on disk. I used backtrace by Asus to create a iso image on a thumb drive and installed the OS on the SSD that way.

OK, next guess is to go to the Asus site and start the support process. I think they have a forum too.
