Hi there .............
You haven't actually told us anything at all in your post.

You have been using what video?
Now you cant play video?
using what icon?
Update what?
Reason could be anything, but as you don't really tell us anything that anything could be 1000 things.

Also, could you please, please fill out your system specs properly.

Please tell us what icon you have been using (Program name?)
Please tell us what kind of computer
Please tell us what video card if you know?
Please tell us what it is you are trying to update.

Thanks Sudheena ;)

My thoughts could be the standard video app that comes stock with windows 8? I do notice that it does hang on the startup screen a lot but does eventually open and is functional. Perhaps he is referring to this? And maybe closes it before it has a chance to load completely? I only responded because this happens to me but I let it continue loading until it eventually opens. Don't know why windows 8 apps/programs take so long to open.

A good idea is to use Windows Media Player instead ;)

it could just be you computer is a bit slower ,or its because the some programs connect to the internet first ,most of mine open almost instantly ,but some slower because they are connecting to the internet

also I agree with antspants, we would all only be making assumptions until OP explains what apps they are using and what type of computer they are using

I don't have any video's in my folder. My laptop is fairly new and hardly used so I haven't put much on it. Perhaps like CaperJack said, it is due to accessing the internet. I personally use VLC. And for my itunes bought movies, I use itunes because of the copyright protection, which won't let me view them on anything else, save for Quicktime.
