Hi, I'm using Windows 8.1 x64 and I've got all my music in "This PC/Music".

A. In "Music" folder I have 1 folder for each artist. In view, I've set EXTRA LARGE ICONS.

B. In each artist folder, I have 1 folder for each album, and in view, I've set also EXTRA LARGE ICONS.

So, in "Music" folder, I can see extra-large artist folders, and the folder icon has the cover arts of the albums it has inside, or some of them, cause the maximum pictures a folder icon shows is 2.

Now, in an "artist" folder, I see also extra-large album folders, with just one picture, as it should be, because all the songs inside the album have the same embed cover art.

An example to clear up things:

I like "Metallica", but I only have 1 album "And Justice For All...". So, in the "Music" folder, I can see an extra-large folder named "Metallica", and that folder's picture is the cover art of the album it has inside. There's just 1 image because there's just 1 album, and all the mp3 files in that album have the same cover art embed. I open "Metallica" folder, and I have there also another extra-large folder named "And Justice For All...", with just 1 picture in the folder's icon, again cause all the mp3 there have the same cover art embed.

Another example, I like "ACDC", and I have 3 albums: "Highway To Hell", "Back In Black" and "Black Ice". In "Music" folder, I have 1 extra-large folder named "ACDC", which folder's icon shows just 2 images, cause it's the maximum it admits. I think it selects 2 random album's cover.

C. In each album folder, I have all the mp3 files, and the view set to DETAILS. Also, and most important, I have the songs sorted by track number, and I click also the option "Size all columns to fit" in order to view all the text information.

D. Consider that I have all the mp3 files correctly tagged, and with their respective album cover art, embed to the mp3 file. Each mp3 file of an album have the very same tag as the other album's files, the same embed cover art, everything the same but the song's name of course.

Now, questions:

1. How can I set ALL the albums folder to have their files sorted by number track and Size all columns to fit?
The only way I know is open each artist folder, and open every single album folder, and do that myself. Well, I definitely can NOT do that to all my library, it would take a life.

2. How can I set all the artist's folder's view to EXTRA LARGE ICONS, so each time I open an artist folder, the albums are in extra-large folders? Right now I have to do it manually, cause by default the view is not EXTRA LARGE ICONS.

3. In just some albums, the album's folder's icon shows 2 images, both the same cover art, cause all the files there have the same cover art, of course. I've noticed that this is caused because of a HIDDEN file, a JPG image that is named "Folder". The album's folders that shows just 1 image in the folder's icon, have that JPG file. The ones that show 2 pictures, don't have any hidden file. How can I RE-create or RESET the "Folder" hidden JPG?

4. In the album's view, DETAIL view, I wanna have THIS configuration in ALL albums, with this columns and this column's sorting:
Name - Track [#](the column that sorts files also, point 1) - Title - Album - Year - Length - Genre - Type

Doing this manually is really a tough task, boring, time-consuming and inefficient.

Thanks a lot and hope I solve the 4 points.

 :D :)

I'm sure I'm not the only user that want to sort their folders in ONE SHOT.

Here is what I do. I go to the actual music folder in C:\Users\my user name\music. I right click it and go to properties. Then under the customize tab I select "Pictures" for the "Optimize this folder for". I also check the box for "Also apply this template to all subfolders" and click apply. Now when I go into my music folder each folder shows the one thumbnail of the artist. I put a folder.jpg in each one with the artsiest picture. If I go into the artist's folder each sub folder for an album will show the one thumbnail for the album art. Go into an album folder and the songs are listed alphabetically with one thumbnail of the album art. That's the best I can do. I don't think what you want to do is easily doable without a lot of manual reconfiguring. As far as Windows is concerned, they are all just folders.

Thank you, but that's what I already have. It doesn't solve any of my 4 questions.

As far as I know, there is no easy way to do what you want to do. The "Also apply this template to all subfolders" will help with some of your folders.

First link is so basic, it only shows how to change the view.

Explorer++ is like an emulator of Windows Explorer. I don't wanna use an emulator. I think what I want is hard to achieve with Windows Explorer. Microsoft could some day improve something in Windows Explorer. The options are pretty much the freakin' same as Windows XP, god.
