Hi, I've seen this issue all over Google but this seems to be a unique problem.
A few days back in tried to turn on my laptop only to be faced with a a screen telling me that Windows will try to repair a problem and that it could take a few hours. The problem is, this loops itself over and over again... Infinitly!
When I searched Google, every result told me to insert my recovery CD, however, this laptop being pre-installed with Windows 8 (all laptops) no longer come with recovery disks.
When I phoned Toshiba they told me to send it back to them and this could take 4 weeks, with some idiot on the other end telling me that I need a new HDD, as they do not offer recovery disks, apparently. But this would be half the problem as I am currently abroad and won't be back for a few months, which just adds to further frustration.
So I got a hold of a USB stick and downloaded the official Windows 8 X64 Core ISO and copied it to the drive with the official ISO maker from Microsoft.
I plugged in the drive and booted up the laptop only to be faced with the message "checking media presence no media present" followed by the infinite repair screen of death!
After HOURS or searching I found out it had something to do with UEFI settings however they got rid of the option completely in BIOS unless you (get this) go into Windows and disable the option!!!
What a load of bull. Microsoft royally outdid themselves here. I've seen my fair share of MS screw ups in the past but this takes the biscuit, well and truly.
All the help I can get is appreciated.
