Hi there
just finished installing the Consumer preview on a VM
Why people are saying older windows users will not like the new navigation panel to me says that they are afraid THEMSELVES to say they don't like it
I'm older and have been using computers for donkeys years including things like TSO on old IBM mainframes (MVS/370 etc) ands I don't have an issue with it.
The small bottom left corner (or depending on where you've opted to place your task bar) is fine for switching from desktop to Metro and the navigation panel on the right of the screen is also fine for switching off etc.
Don't worry if it takes you more than 3 secs to learn -- it's actually fairly simple --- unfortunately in these days of instant gratification people just don't seem to have patience or perseverance any more.
Anyway MS -- you've got a proper runner here -- can't wait for "The finished article".
enc screenshots -- for Navigation click on the tiled box ( bottom left screenshot 2)
for settings / switch off etc hover mouse over the magnifying glass at the bottom right of screen (shot1) You'll have to enlarge the image to see it clearly. When you see the icons just move the mouse into the space --- brilliant.
I did have another post on saying should I keep the developer preview or switch -- I'm going to Switch after a few more tests on the VM.
cheers
