Solved Image Link Won't Open

Hi, why do some links to images not open in the browser instead prompting the user to save/open the file?

I am on Chrome & you see various formats on the page depending on the screen resolutions. When I click on one of the formats, it prompts for save but I want to see the image in Chrome in that format.

when I click on a image on the main page it goes to new page with small image ,see attached image ,I click on it and it opens in new big image .

I just remembered this ,I will check on my other computer to see if chrome is still installed on it and get back to you if it does

I just installed Chrome on my other computer and it worked for me ,the same way as it does in IE and Firefox ,so for me it works in all 3 browsers, if it doesn't work when you click on the image the second time ,then it could be a setting in your Chrome setup options

I don't think you are understanding what the issue is. I am able to click on the picture & it opens in Chrome but when I click on any of the other screen resolution formats, it shows the save dialogue window instead of opening it in Chrome directly.

Why do some image links not open & offer to download instead?

Clicking on the image opens it large enough for inspection, the resolution links are live download links. Saves money, time and space, I guess! :)

When there is "download" part in the address, I would expect it to download that file even if its a picture.
