Currently in the process of locating my "library folders" to my storage drive rather than keeping them on my boot drive. In the process, I made a mistake of somehow syncing my music folder with my pictures folder. Now they open up to the same directory on my storage drive. At the same time, my pictures folder was renamed to Music.

1.) How do I disconnect my original "pictures folder" (which is now renamed to music and is essentially the same folder as my music folder).

2.) How do I rename it back to "pictures" ?

This will help you restore the missing libraries. Libraries - Restore Default - Windows 7 Help Forums

I will tell you that it is not wise to move libraries to a Network drive. Even if you map it, at times Windows 8 will not connect to the share, so in turn you lose those directories you have "mapped".

You can write a script to automatically reconnect to the mapped shares, when you log into Windows 8. See Problem : automatically reconnect mapped drives at login - Windows 7 Help Forums for how to get Windows to reconnect to mapped shares.
