Exclude specific application execution in "Standard User"

    Help Appreciated.

In a Windows 8 PC, User account is "Standard" and Administrator account is different, in which how can I exclude some application which is from asking administrator password to execute?

My situation is specially for application updates such as java and/or adobe reader. Each time, when there is an update, it is asking administrator password to run the same.

    Kindly assist.

Hello Anil, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Normally you could use an option in the tutorial below to prevent standard "users" from being able to run a specific file.

Applications - Prevent Running Specified Programs - Windows 7 Help Forums

However, in this case, the user isn't the one running the application. The applications are set to automatically check for updates, so they're running themselves instead. If you turn off the check for updates automatically option in the java and Adobe programs, it should stop this. You will of course need to manually check for updates afterwards every so often though.

    Hope this helps,

Windows 8 "Standard Edition"?
I recently bought an OEM PC with Windows 8 pre-loaded. Oddly it doesn't have a product key printed on it. I was able to obtain it with BelArc but that is a different story. Anyway the wiki for Windows 8 lists four editions; RT, Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro, Windows 8 Enterprise. When I search...

Will there be a means for Metro "Daemons"/servers/GUI-less application
I'm just wondering if there will eventually be a means of running a Metro-compliant background task, such as Notification Area Icons In Win78 and Desktop? Theoretically these could be added to the harms menu somehow.
