Is this part of the OS?

Hello

Where does this message come from? Since it has 'Enter Setup' as an option, I'm guessing it is not part of the system bios. Is it part of the motherboard or the OS (Windows 8.1)? I get this window when I press the delete key during bootup on my ASUS A55V laptop. When I disable Secure Boot and enable Launch CMS I get additional options to boot to ie; the CD/DVD and my thumb drives. I have learned much from this forum...I'm glad I found it

Probably the delete key enters in the "Boot Media Selector", what is a feature of the BIOS. In most ASUS boards the key is F8, maybe yours is different.

DEL on Asus is the same as F12 on most computers. It is to enter the temporary boot order change. HP is the same.

Stick a USB stick in and that will also show in the little window. And to answer your question - it is part of the BIOS.
