hi this is my first post and i am not very techy. i was attempting to download itunes on to my acer laptop and started to get bogged down with the toolbars and search engines that they dump on you. i am not sure if this is related to problem but there was a window saying my computer was 32bit and i needed to ugrade to to 64 which i agreed to.

it all went badly wrong and i tried to close it down. now when i start up my laptop i get a blue screen, the grey bar at the bottom with the windows logo on fashes, and the wheel spins around. before this screen i was getting a flashing blue screen and it was not allowing me to do anything at all.

i tried a battery pull but that made no difference help

IF this is true exactly as you describe, then unfortunately you have been scammed into installing malware. That is impossible to do. You cannot "upgrade" from one architecture to another: i.e. 32 to 64 bit or vice-versa and any legitimate software would never suggest it.

Recommend using Killdisk on the hard drive then clean install Windows from the DVD or USB key.
