fullscreen desktop programs snap with metro?

Okay hi, this question might be a bit confusing, so I'll explain. What I want to do is have the ability to play a fullscreen game or a fullscreen video or anything else like that, but have it only take up the screen that the desktop is taking, leaving the rest for a snapped skype or something like that. I found a good thread describing the problem, but no answer to whether or not it is possible to do this. So is this possible? I'd like to have a fullscreen browser open (so it doesn't have the toolbars on top) along with skype.

Not on the one monitor. When your monitor is already full screen, you need a second display in order to fetch an app from the app switcher, set it into place and adjust...
... if you set an app in place on one screen then go full screen, it'll kick the app out.
