Yes Im no wizard but I tried to restart my ASUS THREE TIMES using control-alt-del keys and the auto repair from windows 8 seems to have fixed it. But alas I was wrong. So No choice ASUS notebooks - have a F9 recovery key during bootup - my windows 8 was deleted and the notebook was restored to its first state - with Windows Vista.... what to do...... At least I can type my masters programme assignments....

Hello,

Well if you have gone back to Windows Vista you can upgrade your OS back to Windows 8.

Or you can do a clean install of Windows 8.

http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/2299-clean-install-windows-8-a.html

You will have to decide which one you want to go for depending on on whether you want to completely wipe your hard drive and start again fresh or whether you want to upgrade and keep your files and app.

Before you do anything make sure you backup your important data just to be safe.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Harry
