In windows 8 it was removed and I was happy (I have a keyboard so I just use hotkeys), but in 8.1 it turns on by default and I can't see how to switch it back off. Thanks in advance!

Thanks Harrylowt, is there any way to do it /without/ having to install a program and have it run at startup? Useless buttons are annoying, but having a program run at startup to remove the useless button is worse!

Gorman,

As far as am I am aware Microsoft did not put an option in Windows 8.1 to change this.

The Applications are not to intrusive and you can set to be started at start-up and hidden from the action bar.

Cheers,
Harry

I think I'll just live with it and hope they add the option in 8.2 ;) Thanks anyway!
