Hello,

I have been dealing with this issue for weeks with no fix. I upgraded to windows 8.1 when it was available and the first time I turned off my computer after upgrading, it all started and now I'm stuck in this automatic repair loop. To top it all off my mobo: Gigabyte GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3... has now become my main issue.

I have a bootable flash drive loaded with windows 8.1 and a bootable DVD loaded with windows 8.1 but my mobo supports only HDD and CD-rom...

I have no clue what to do, as I can't use a repair disc to repair my computer and I CANNOT Reset my PC, I have way to many files that I need on my HDD.

Does anyone have any suggestions at all for me, I literally am clueless at this point and I have tried everything.

Thank you.

Yes.

Run this batch file.
It may take 2 hours to run:

How will I run that batch file when my computer is stuck in automatic repair... Is there a command I can put in the command prompt to run it?

In administrator command prompt run:

sfc /scannow

Screenshot (33).png

Then run:

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Screenshot (32).png

Then run sfc /scannow AGAIN.

I tired the first command "sfc /scannow" and it said "Beginning system scan. This process will take some time. There is a system repair pending which requires reboot to complete. Restart Windows and run sfc again."

and if I restart, it just brings me back to automatic repair again and won't let me run the command...

Unless someone has a better idea, I would think reinstalling your OS is the best bet.

I'm not against that, is there a way to recover the files from my HDD in RAID 0? Is the best option to get an interal drive enclosure kit? If so, how would that work with RAID 0

I know nothing about RAID or internal drive enclosure kits.

Someone else will have to pitch in & help you with that. Sorry. :(

I don't offer advice on stuff I know nothing about.
Which is a good policy.

If you have a restore point before the problem started use rstrui.exe in a administrator command prompt to conjure up System Restore & follow the prompts:

It says "No restore points have been created on your computer's system drive." However that is not true because windows automatically creates restore points before and after upgrading....sigh this sucks

You just need an extra hard drive so as to put all the files you need to keep on it. No need for an enclosed drive when you have an actual PC with extra sata ports etc. Terabyte drives are like 50 bucks these days.

RAID 0 won't matter, although you may need to make some adjustments to the drive's security settings in order to access it. After you move the files then just reinstall Windows and move the files back to the main drive.

I'm confused. How do I copy the data from the internal HDDs in RAID0 to another computer(I have an older desktop but not sure if it supports RAID0) since my computer is inoperable at the moment? I was planning on plugging in the drives to my old desktops mobo and hoping it'd recognize it(it's an old HP running vista).. Any other ideas?

Thanks for your reply. I understand how to do part 1(how do I know which drivers to use? From my mobo manufacturer website?). Is part 2 assuming after part 1 I have a functional computer and can get to the desktop? Thank you.

NO need to load any drivers, you just using LOAD DRIVERS to see the drives.

Needs to be made on a working PC.
