It was easy, I just created a short-cut on my desktop (to anything it doesn't really matter) and then right clicked and changed the icon to a "blank" icon I already made. I then pinned the icon/shortcut to the far left of the taskbar so that the Vistart orb sits over it slightly
Here is the link for the icon if you need it: https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=2884055b5693cad4&id=2884055B5693CAD4%2120427#
Ah.That makes sense. I was thinking of doing something with a toolbar. I'll have a play tomorrow.
How are you guys getting it to look just like the menu in Win 7?
All I get is it having it open up in old style.
Oh, OK. I though you guys were talking about this one from this post:
It installed the Babylon toolbar anyway even though I told it not to.
And don't like the splash screen it shows on a reboot.
I didnt see anything about a tool bar! lolz
I know its not perfect but I guess its okay for a temp fix until something better comes along
It asks if you want to install the babylon toolbar at first install, and has them all checked by default. Unchecked them, and it still installed it! Had to deal with getting rid of it from Programs and features, and removing from FF/IE.
Says the same thing here at the bottom:
Start Menu For Windows 8 Consumer Preview
Yeah, I got rid of that - looks nice , but Vista start menu works better.
Kinda ridiculous that MS removed it - now we need to go and 3rd party versions.
Great opportunity for Dennis and the other guys who make Start Menu replacements.
Previously , the market was small since most people were happy with the Windows start menu.
Now we have been deprived of it - there is an enormous market- tens of millions - perhaps hundreds of millions of people will want them.
Search box works fine, too.
Made things massively easier.
