Not necessarily... my PC also have 512KB Cache Size and runs Windows 8.1 Pro (x64) very smoothly... but the CPU Clock (1100 Mhz) is certainly going to make it slower!

Nah, it's just tuned down at the moment of when he grabbed specs. The cpu is 2200 MHz stock.

The system will run 8.1 very well, no problems.

The terms 32-bit and 64-bit refer to the way a computer's processor (also called a CPU), handles information. The 64-bit version of Windows handles large amounts of random access memory (RAM) more effectively than a 32-bit system.

With 32-bit architecture you will only be able to install up 4gb of Ram in your computer which the operating system will be support. Although with the 64bit depending on the version can use up 512gb, as shown below:

RAM limits in Windows 8.1 Enterprise – 4GB on x86(32-bit), 512GB on x64
RAM limits in Windows 8.1 Professional – 4GB on x86(32-bit), 512GB on x64
RAM limits in Windows 8.1 – 4GB on x86(32-bit), 128GB on x64

Yeah... you can run Windows 8.1 (x64) normally! I have similar specs and my PC runs just fine, actually runs better than the "pre-installed" Windows 7.

If your PC came with any version of Windows 7 or Windows 8, you can safely make a switch to Windows 8.1! Even some Windows Vista PC's can be further upgraded to Windows 8.1! :D

Even XP era machines can too in lots of cases. Just no nForce3 chipsets or below (sometimes 4 is pain too) and the processor must support the requirements. Most any other obstacle can be overcome in most cases (some old wireless drivers aside). But still, I recommend 7 for these machines. Maybe I like 7 too much. heh

Hehe LOL! xDDD
But you are right, several moths ago I saw an old HP Laptop (not sure what model but it was from XP era) running Windows 8 (32-bit). It runned fine but it was frustrating to use it, especially on booting process since it took up almost 7 minutes!!!
So yea, you need to have lots of patience to use Win8 on a XP based machine!
