Hello. Recently after doing restore of windows 8 of my computer and resetting all my data, i noticed i had Microsoft Basic Display Adapter by default as my video card. So, i updated my drivers to its respective update and started playing some games. On all of them , either in the midst of gameplay or right when i started, the screen gets smaller and blacks out, and it says that the game has stopped working and windows is finding a solution blah blah blah. I already tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling, or reinstalling an older version. Also, i tried putting the games on lowest res, lowest quality, and change the direct x on the game to 9. None worked. It's really weird because i never had these problems before the windows restore. These games are league of legends, far cry 3, and borderlands 2. Oh yeah and i already tried reinstalling all of the games and got no luck

Sounds like you might need to use a video driver cleaner then do a fresh re-install. Are you sure you have the latest driver for 8?

Driver Fusion is a good cleaner, there are several others.

Wait a minute, I just noticed your PSU is 280w. Seems a bit low. Is this a new computer and have you added cards or peripherals that use your PSU?

PS: Welcome to the forum!

Its a new computer bought from lenovo. The PSU isn't that bottleneck though because the a10-6700 only requires like 65w and thats cpu-gpu included. Ill use driver fusion and then install the drivers again, and ill get back to you!

Hmm. I uninstalled the driver package from the catalyst control center, then went into safe mode and uninstalled all remaining files from the drivers. It actually found remaining drivers from an old video card driver so i removed them. After that i got to play some games way longer than before, but still the game crashed. One of the the times the game just closed, with no error or nothing, and another time it said that it stopped working . ;/ Any ideas? In event logs it says that the crash had something to do with ntdll.dll. Im gonna reinstall windows 8.

You can hold off on reinstall 8. See Brink's thread in top of BSOD subforum and post results, if interested in fixing this.

I don't know what to say. Those APU's are a tricky thing. If the Lenovo drivers don't work try the one from the AMD site. I'll see if I find something there.

Have you tried this? Desktop
