I used the san disk from my digital camera to export the photos from it onto my computer. Once it was
completed I was unable to find the photos anywhere on my computer. I've checked My Pictures, files, and every other place I could think of and they are nowhere to be found. I use Windows 8.1 O/S. Any help
with this matter would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Try again importing pics. It should tell you where they go and give you a choice where to put them. Now they are probably buried deep in the system somewhere.

Use the Search Charm

Why don't you swipe the Charms on the right side of the screen and select 'Search'.
Select 'Files' and type the name of one of the files and when it is listed in the result, right click it and select 'Open File Location'.

The files probably have some funny numbers. I never know what those are.

Most probably of JPG type, try Search for Files with " *.jpg " (without quotes). Your camera/phone manual should tell you which format it saves in.

That may be too broad a criterion to search on if there are jpg files scattered throughout the computer.
If you know a few characters which start the names of the photos, as you type them into the search box, it may display various files that meet the start of the file name.

When you first install Picasa it searches your computer for pictures.
If your pictures are in it somewhere, Picasa will locate them for you. :)

EDIT--- If Picasa does not locate them on the initial search, you need to select the file type you are looking for.

David, thank you for your suggestion about using Picasa. I downloaded it but have one problem with it. When I get to
the import part it does note permit me to put my camera info in the block. Instead i shows to pick either MSG5100 series or folder. It will not permit me to type in C533 Zoom Digital Camera which is where I'm importing it from. What do I do
now?

Thank you.

PIcasa will make it's own storage areas, it won't use the ones the camera used.

Look in your Pictures folder for DATED FOLDERS. The folders with the date you did the transfer will be the folders for the pics you imported.

Just let it import the pictures.

Once imported, you can move them around & rename folders.
