Win 8 compatibility with my old Asus motherboard ?

Hi

According to this link my old Asus P5K-E Wifi Delux board should be compatible:

Windows 8 compatibility for ASUS P5K Deluxe/WiFi-AP AiLifestyle Series ATX - iP35 Motherboard model P5K DELUXE WIFI-AP


However the Asus download site for this board does not list Win 8 as compatible OS - only up to Win 7.

I am thinking of upgrading but don't want to rebuild my PC to do this.

Can someone advise ?

Technically-speaking, 8 or 8.1 will work well for you. If you have any problems whatsoever with the setup, we here at the forums can advise well.

I've troubleshot that motherboard more times that the internet can count. Don't take that as a negative; there is no design flaw or defect.

So are you saying that the drivers etc. listed on Asus site (from around 2007) are compatible with Win 8, even though Asus don't confirm this ?

You're welcome.

No, 2007 drivers will not do. Mainly, the device makers' websites will be of most help here. Install from them directly (using Device Manager, devmgmt.msc, in most cases), and in case there is some discrepancy, it can be figured out easily.
