Solved [BUG] Very Strange Issue with the Pagefile

Dear Forum,

Summary:
I deleted system's pagefile because I want to run the system fully on ram (32gb), but dxdiag still reports that 21gb is occupied by the deleted pagefile. I cannot find the file. It seems to be deleted, however, 21gb is missing from my hard drive. It is a painful situation because my system runs on 59gb ssd, therefore, leaving me only ~1GB of free space on the drive C:\

Explanation:
Look at the pictures. You can see that there's 59GB of space in total on the drive, 31GB is occupied, but only 1GB of free space is left. Page file does not exist, yet dxdiag reports that 21GB is occupied by the page file.
Notice: I am not saying it is the page file, but I would believe that this is somehow connected.

Please help me to resolve this problem.
Thank you in advance for any help.

Hello WoAyumi. Welcome to Eight Forums.

Just asking, I don't see hiberfil.sys listed there. Did you untick the system files listing from folder options.
Did you delete the hiberfil.sys > Win + X >Command Prompt > Admin > powercfg.exe -h off
(hibernation file mimics size of physical memory available) empty your recycle bin and reboot

ok. Have you looked at Win + X > Disk Management and examined the partition tables.
If Microsoft disk management is inadequate, you could look into Macrium free version, Paragon, EaseUS or other partition tools. You will need a tool to examine the drive that is bootable.
I have always been a fan of GParted.

GParted -- A free application for graphically managing disk device partitions

Considering, at the time of this post, it is 4:17am where you live! Have a good night. Best of Luck.

Yes, it is completely dedicated to the drive C. I am using acronis disk director and it shows the same - the hard drive is fully dedicated to disk C (except 99mb system reserved)

When you used cleanmgr.exe did you go to advanced features? Do you have duplicate installations? Shadow copies? How about restore points? Do you have multiple GB of restore points?

Disk Director is a good program. Can you do a search from File Explorer and set the parameter to DETAIL and check for the largest size of a file, especially hidden or hidden system files?

Is there any evidence of unusual behavior with memory as listed in the task manager?

Have you checked Programs and Features to see the size of all your installations?

I tried searching but it did not find any big files. I tried cleaning page file on shutdown, but it did not help either. I tried full disk check, it did not help too.

Have you tried Win + X > Command Prompt > Admin > sfc /scannow

http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/3047-sfc-scannow-command-run-windows-8-a.html

Through the process of elimination you can find the problem area.
If in fact it is a file bloat on C, then you could check the size of individual groups like "Program Files (x86)",
or the size of "Windows" or "System32" or elsewhere.

Nothing can stay totally hidden with the right forensic tools.
It is late. Good night.

tried sfc /scannow - it found some errors and fixed them, but all files on the disk are still totaling to 31GB, while the disk C capacity is 59GB according to diskpart, list volume and disk C properties window. What is going on? How do I fix this, guys?

Has Acronis Recovery created a reserved space?

Can you use your Acronis bootable recovery tool to inspect the drive?

Forgive me for this point, but is your system a laptop / notebook or upgradeable computer?
SSD's are great, but pricey. If your PC is a laptop, then more work might be needed. If not, there are 500GB drives for sale for $50 (USA currency). I know nothing about the Ukraine. How's the weather? :( ... 60 GB for a system with recovery partitions and lots of installations may always be a concern. Your screenshot of C lists quite a few possibilities. Have you ever done a clean install? Do you have Windows 8 on a thumb drive for reinstallations? Can you experiment with imaging your system, then reinstalling? Are you able to do a reset? Can you uninstall some programs?

No, I do not have any hidden partitions reserved for the restore. I know I can reinstall the system, but I was hoping to solve it in a different way.
