Screen freaking out

So I did a system restore last night to my windows 8 laptop, and when I woke up an opened desktop the screen started constantly turning purple and going back to the desktop. I've tried restarting the laptop but the same thing happened :/

so you only tried restarting , try going into device manager and uninstalling and reinstall the video device drivers

It seems to happen when I go to search/the other things at the right of the screen. And I just found out my dad downloaded windows 8.1, and it was working before that
