Hi Guys, you may know me, I am Infinite from SevenForums. I have just registered an account here because I just installed Windows 8 Preview. Sure is gonna take a while to get used to :(

But when I installed it (Windows 8 32 Bit DP), I now don't have the option to select Linux on my Boot (Linux Wubi Desktop 10.10) and with Windows 7 I did.

Any suggestions?

Cheers.

I have almost the same problem. The only difference is that I installed Windows 8 64bit Pro and have Wubi Ubuntu 10.04.

It over wrote the grub booterloader. You had it them in separate partitions right?

I don't have them in separate partitions. Since wubi doesn't work that way. Here is a quote from wikipedia.

While Wubi does not install Ubuntu directly to its own partition this can also be accomplished by using LVPM, the Loopmounted Virtual Partition Manager, to transfer the Wubi-generated Ubuntu installation to a dedicated real partition.

I just want to make a some sort a path to Ubuntu installed.

I know that one possible way to get Ubuntu running under Wubi is to uninstall win8, and install win7. But I want to solve this problem another way, so I can keep current win8 installed.

I've solved this problem. This is the link:

How To Restore the Wubi Ubuntu Bootloader - How-To Geek

And one correction of the tutorial above. In this section:

To change the drive or partition, enter the following, substituting {device_id} for the identifier of your drive from the identifier listed under Real-Mode Boot Sector, and X: for your Drive letter designator. Note that you can quickly insert the drive identifier by copying and pasting the information printed out already in Command Prompt.
bcdedit /set {device_id} partition=X:

It's not bcdedit /set {device_id} partition=X: , it's like this: bcdedit /set {device_id} device partition=X:
