I have Dell N5110. It has Windows 8 (not 8.1). It worked well for a long time but something strange happened. It had 2 MS accounts because the laptop is used by 2 persons. One day only the main user was able to log-in the laptop and the other user account was missing as if it was deleted. I checked the user list within the system and the other user account was present.
I logged off to see if the other user will show up but again only the main user shows up. I tried the regedit fix through a tutorial but again the other person seems to be gone. I created another user but that user was not present at the log-in page too. I tried switch user method but yet again it showed the main user once again.
This is not the only problem. User settings asks me to trust this PC which I did and says the PC is trusted. Whenever I go back to user settings it keeps asking me to trust the PC. I did over and over and nothing changed. What is even worse is that the metro apps don't work at all. I click on them nothing happens. Only Store app works but jumps to metro app page automatically. However Store app works in the background but in a stuck state. What is wrong with this PC?
backup u'r all data & restore system to an earlier time when it was working fine if it not working or you not created any restore point.then u have to re-install windows.because u already messed up with registry.in future take proper care of u'r system & keep making maual restore points when u feel it working fine. Hope this helps
I uninstalled iobit ASC7 and now laptop runs much smoother but still suffer from Win8 bugs. I guess better do a refresh or even format it for better experience.

Hi Erkronos i suggest u to not install any third party softwares in u'r pc.only use windows internal programs.because i had worst experience with them.only use a third-party software if it is trusted & good reviews for it. And yes do a refresh,Good Luck
Just another voice against those "Miracle Programs", they like to make things miraculously disappear. On the other hand it's OK because they made me some money repairing systems after their "fixes".
