Screen tiles do not appear automatically

cliffhanger

Each time I start the computer is is necessary for me to adjust the screen resolution to
cause the screen tiles to appear when clicking "start" on the right side of the screen.
What am I not doing? When I open the computer the next time I adjust the screen resolution back to a different
setting and the tiles come up.

Also (I'm obviously a newcomer to W. 8), I get a dialogue box each time which refers to
to: "RUNDll". Something about an issue with opening something???? I click "OK" and it goes away.
Appears every time I start up.
Help.
Thanks.

The message in the box looks like:

RUN DLL
c/user/CliffApp Data/local/conduit/backgroundcontainer/backgroundcontainer.dll
The specified module could not be found.

And..start tiles still don't appear unless I go into screen resolution and adjust the setting.
Thanks for any help.
Cliff

Go to Control Panel, Programs and Features. Uninstall anything Conduit related. That will get rid of the RUN DLL error.

Ztruker--
Tried and tried to uninstall anything that came up under Conduit. Mostly documents under "search conduit."
BUT---new box comes up saying that I don't have access to that function. "Contact system administrator."
I'm not sure what any of this means.
Any ideas?
Thanks. Cliff

You did this from Control Panel, Programs and Features?

Is this your computer?
Is your account an Administrator level account?

Let's see what's installed on your computer:

Download, install and run CCleaner.
Click on Tools at left.
Make sure Uninstall is selected.
Click the Save to text file ... button. Save install.txt where you can find it.
Upload install.txt here. To do this you need to click on the Go Advanced button.
Click the Paper Clip icon.
Click one of the Browse buttons. Select install.txt then click the Upload button.
Close the Manage Attachments window.
Click the wedge next to the Paper Clip icon and select the file you uploaded. It will put in your post.

Conduit is only the base for toolbars, there will be a separate toolbar to be deleted. Remove the conduit entry from the task manager startup pane.

Conduit is not bad in itself, but some of the toolbars that use it are.
