Just run the command exactly how I typed it from command prompt on the install disk.

If it won't start, you may have to change directories (CD) to the C:\Windows\System32 or Wowsys64 directory/folder

The DISM command is actually in the c:\Windows\System32 folder so you can still use the install disk, but just type

    CD C:\Windows\System32

And then type the DISM command exactly as I posted it.

I can get to the command prompt, and c: \windows\system32> but cannot access wowsys64,although i can"see" it.

Also the command as you gave me.."dism/online/cleanup-image/restorehealth" did not work in c:\windows\system32

I tried but it had a hard time processing past the online part of the command. "-image" and "image" tried replacing image with a drive letter..and so on..

Thanks X Im learning, and re-learning. as I'm going along. Would really like to get to the wowsys64 prompt, and run the command as asked,(yeah its 64bit now..)

Thanks for your patience and all you guys help. Yeah I Promise a full report when I'm done

Thanks gonna call it a night

    This won't work: "dism/online/cleanup-image/restorehealth"
    This should: "dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth"

    You need spaces between parameters.

Looks like that won't work. There is no /cleanup-image parameter. Also looks like you would need to use /image:c:\ to point to the OS to process.

This is the output of dism /?

Okay, tried this booting from a flash drive. /cleanup-image is valid, but /online is not, you need to use /image:c:\.

That also fails after a few seconds and I can't see in the dism.log file exactly what the problem is.

I can get to the c: prompt in the win8 boot disk. and the commandline "dism/online/cleanup" , but thats it..
Tried -image , c: , but the syntax or command is wrong..

cleanup has some options, but they are different obviously.

All i can get to is the cleanup command, but lost past that.

I couldn't get a program to save my dos readout on my USB stick.sorry guys.

Talk at u soon. Can you help me with the Command line X?

Thank you again guys..we'll get it..

That is NOT the command line, look all you have to do is copy it from my text:

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Paste it EXACTLY like that in the System32 folder and it will work. If you can't paste it, type it in just like I posted.

If the /online command is invalid, it may be because of running it from the install disk command prompt

    Use /IMAGE instead:

    Dism /Image /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Sorry for the Mixup, i didn't check for Online vs Offline versions of the command.
