No navigation tab on taskbar properties

G'day,

I cannot seem to get the "taskbar and navigation properties" pane, only the "taskbar properties" pane. I am running as administrator and have upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 on a new laptap that I have just purchased, but am still having trouble getting the "taskbar and navigation properties" when I right click the taskbar.

The "taskbar properties" only gives me three tabs ie. taskbar, jump lists and properties, but I need to access the navigation tab on the "taskbar and navigation properties" pane.

Any ideas ???? :D

and thanks for your time or any advice.

Sue

It's not there. Not sure what you are looking for, they pared it down to what you see in those 3 tabs. Any Navigation properties will be in Explorer.

Recently lost my Windows 8 on my main PC, had to go back to Windows 7.
When I right click the taskbar and select properties I only get a pane named "taskbar properties" which only has three tabs, but I should be able to right click the taskbar and select properties and get a pane named "taskbar and navigation pane" with four tabs.

Can you right click on your taskbar and select properties and tell me whether you get a pane called "taskbar properties" or "taskbar and navigation properties". This will explain what I am trying to get.

I hope this is clearer and thanks again.

I have it on my W 8.1 desktop PC and 8.1 laptop. Windows 8.1 has it, Windows 8.0 doesn't. My installs were clean installs not upgrades.

Thank you so much for your info, very helpful. Do you know why the upgrade is not the same as the clean install and how do I go about getting a clean install, etc.

I really appreciate your time on this.

As far as I know you should have that option upgrade or clean install. I just stated that my installs were clean installs for clarification. Check the system screen to make sure you did actually upgrade to 8.1, Windows Logo Key + pause/break key. Upgrade installs can have issues, maybe something went wrong with your upgrade. To do a clean install you'll need 8.1 install media.
