switch for running an application as administrator?

Is there a switch for running an application as an administrator like: regedit /a or regedit /admin?

It depends on how you are wanting to do this.

Usually, you could just right click on the program .exe or it's shortcut and click on "Run as administrator".

Here are some other options in the tutorial below as well. Option Five or SIX could be good for this.

this I already know but it doesn't allow me to run something like sfc /scannow
running from context menu as administrator allow only running sfc which does nothing (opens cmd and closes it without scanning)

Open task manage. File/Run new task and then tick to run as administrator.

Option Eight above.

As a workaround, you could create a .bat file to run sfc /scannow or whatever, create a shortcut of the .bat file, set the shortcut to "Run as administrator" using Option Six, then have the context menu run the shortcut.

it worked! the batch file. again I have to run notepad as administrator. I still don't know why I get the 0x000007b error message window.

It's most likely from something you may have done while taking ownership of your C:\Windows folder.
