Windows 8.1 Search Charm Issues

The search charm is malfunctioning in a curious way. It's finding and displaying all the items it should, but when I click on any item in the search results, it won't open it. However, this only appears to be the case for Settings (Network settings, firewall, etc.) and Windows 8 apps (like news, settings, weather, etc.) Things like .docs, Word, File Browser, etc all work fine.

I've already tried the "Solve search and index", and it said there were no errors. Any ideas on a fix? It's really rather frustrating having to go through the control panel to quickly change settings.

I have the same issue. Been working on this problem for 3 days. Just got the Search errors to go away... What a pain...

What I noticed is sometimes it works for certain words and then it stops even if I search the same word later... Completely baffling..
