Solved Remove iCloud Photos from this pc

I'm not sure but you can try this utility to see if that works for you:

WinAero: This PC Tweaker

It seems to work on removing (or hiding) protected folders or creating new ones in a normally protected area.

Good luck and I hope this information is helpful.

Q: Do you have iTunes installed? When you install iTunes it installs all of the iCloud support with it by default, that was when that folder showed up for me, but when I logged into my account, my Photostream showed up there. It used to say "Photostream" there, now it says "icloud photos", same thing.

I believe you can get rid of it all by removing "iCloud" - it will show up in "Add/Remove Programs and Features", if you don't want it in there, just uninstall it. You can also disable it on your device as well, if you have an Apple Device.

Maybe, but it should be easier to delete iCloud from the system. iCloud wound not even be in there unless iTunes or QuickTime got installed.

Thanks! That also works great in Windows 8.1. However, in the registry key replace the "MyComputer" within the string with "ThisPC".

For Win 7 replace "ThisPC" with "My Computer". Great solution. I was so frustrated. Apple should improve their removal process instead leaving these trails behind. Naveen Mital.
