Hello,

Just wondering if anyone has a problem pinning ANYTHING to Taskbar??

I reset it because i can't pin anything thing it would clear it
but now all my pinned programs have gone and i can't drop them back onto taskbar
It show the little arrow when i drag it there then nothing :(

Any ideas please

Do you have the "Pin to taskbar" context menu item available when you right click on a program's .exe file or shortcut?

Did you reset Windows or the taskbar?

I reset the taskbar
I have all the "pin to tasbar context menu's and even on start screen, just nothing happens

In that case, if this just recently started to happen, then doing a system restore using a restore point (if available) dated before this issue started may be able to undo the cause and fix it.

Still doesn't work, but i tried the Pin to 8 App and it does??

I ran a sfc /scannow with no errors or corupt files?? (Strange)

But at least i can use the app, i was wondering if Avast could be blocking things??

Avast wouldn't allow me to install apps/programs from D
Windows was telling me i didn't have access to specified drive, folder etc......

But it was nothing to do with Windows but Avast not letting me until i added exceptions
Could it be blocking system folders??
Just a thought

Most likely. The new Avast has been causing a lot of issues in Windows 8/8.1.

As a test, you could temporarily uninstall Avast to see if the issue persists afterwards or not.
