can anyone tell me why windows photo software render my photos polarized in green tint. And how can I fix this issue

Was it a photo taken in nighttime? Sometimes the Black shows up as green.

this is the problem I am having it changes the picture all by it self. it does not effect every picture.

Uh, it could be your actual camera.... because it looks snokkered to me too, and my viewers work.....

Try downloading some random pics of the net, see if the issues persist...

That seems very strange. What are you doing when it changes the color? Opening it, and saving it? It would seem the color settings of the software are somehow messed up.

this happened when I add my photos to the metro block on the start screen didn't open or nothing just noticed it when the pictures scroll through

I avoid the metro interface like the plague, so can't help you. The images it decides to flash up there on my W8 install seem to be OK though. It would appear to be an issue with the Windows (metro) software. I presume if you look at the JPEG using Windows Explorer from the Desktop all is OK?

I stumbled on this review of Windows 8/8.1. From it, there appears to be many issues with the metro version of the Photo App in Windows 8. They describe it as a "comically non-functional piece of software". It sounds like while not perfect in 8.1 it is actually functional. So, perhaps your fix is to upgrade to 8.1. But honestly, I think the best solution is to use a real photo program run from the Desktop, and not a Windows App.

That is interesting. If you look at the File Properties, have the files been modified? or are they in their original form (date, size)?

The only thing I have done is changed the size so that I could upload it to the website

I already have the 8.1 upgrade the only thing I don't understand is if I remember right this happen in windows 7 with photo gallery the only way I got it fixed was uninstalled photo gallery and luckily I keep a couple of spare drives of my photos .

If that looks bad for me here, then it's the quality of the pic, what is it, a Canon? I had a little Canon Sureshot, eventually all the pics looked like that, then my cat peed on it. But I think the quality degrades for some reason, when I first got it, it was sharp and clear, never had to deal with focus, it would do it automatically. Then, it started taking pics out of focus, and then the green thing. Usually for pics taken at night, but later all the time.

But even with pics like that, you can use Photoshop or something else to colour correct it, usually automatically.

Also, if you imported that from a camera, sometimes the import software might ask you if you want it to automatically change something about it, I always say "No".

Looks like the image was passed through a filter of some sort.
