i just purchased a samsung ativ one 700a3d with a 1tb hdd and i want to install a ssd when i try some the cloning software it tells me insufficient space is there a way a round this and keep the OS the same

You will have to change the Size of your Windows Partition to be LESS than 128 GB.
You can use Disk Partition Wizard Home Edition to change the size, just leave the rest of the drive Unallocated for now. After you get the size changed to a little under 128 Gig, then you can use a Disk Cloning program to copy it.

I've moved HDDs to SSD before, what I posted was how I did it. But you better look through the tutorial in case there is something important you need to do. The main thing is don't delete the System Partition until you get it copied onto the new drive.
