Zip Files

I have updated to windows 8.1 and my zip files now look like sheets of paper with a corner turned down. Is there any way to get them to look like zip files? I have 7 Zip and peazip. I have always used 7zip .

If you wanted to set 7-Zip as the default program for .zip files, then you could do this below to do so.

• Right click on the 7-Zip shortcut, and click on Run as administrator.
• In 7-Zip, click on Tools (menu bar) and Options.
• In the System tab of Options, select zip under "Type", click on the right + button for "All Users", and click on OK.
• Close 7-Zip if you like.

Thank you for your suggestion. There is no "type" or + button. I did find a box with all the other file types and checked that but no where to set as default.

Do you have the latest 9.30 alpha (top right corner below) version of 7-Zip installed?

I have 9.20 installed and it is working for me. So, have you tried opening 7-zip, selecting Tools, then Options and try to make the file associations that way?
