Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64 and Windows XP Professional SP3 x32 (Dual Boot)

I never used Windows 8 that much in my multi boot configuration, I just wanted to test it out and see how it was. I was pretty happy with it, but I eventually got rid of it due to me usually using 7 over it. I will very likely get back into it once the beta comes along.

    Vista and Win7

Win8 is interesting - but has not yet anything that really excites me. The fact that it is very stable is amazing indeed considering that it is an alpha version. But my win7 is stable too. So why invest a lot of installation and tuning effort into a trespasser.

    Windows 8, x64, DP8102 - Win7 Ultimate x64, Dual Boot

The title of this thread is a bit off. The Win8 Beta will be released in January.

I'll dual boot until the Win8 RTM.

    Windows 8 developer preview

I went from XP to WDP, This is my secondary PC. I run Linux Mint on my main PC. I have no plans to go back to XP. Hopefully this will be offered as an upgrade or I'll dual boot like mikedl.

For me, Gary, if the Beta is not offered as an upgrade, I'll just delete WDP and install it (the Beta Win8).

What I mean is that I'll keep Win7 on dual boot before I commit totally to Win8 and, before I do so, I'll wait for the RTM.

Until the RTM comes out, I'll dual boot with Win7 but, again, once the RTM is presented, I just might dump Win 7 for Win 8.

    We'll see ...

    Hi there
Not sure why the title was "off" -- to me an honest question - Go back to W7 (or other OS such as XP) or install new Beta when it arrives.

Maybe my understanding of English isn't 100% native but I'm sure the question was perfectly clear.

Jimbo, I was merely commenting on the "March, 2012" part as the Beta should be released in January, 2012.

I meant nothing condescending in my comment and I apologize if it was construed in such a manner.

    Windows 8.1 Pro

I have it dual booted with 7 with 30 gigs partitioned for 8. As far as I'm concerned, I'll be going through the beta phase with 8. The DP has proven to be very stable. The only problems I've had is with hotswaps of hard drives and Windows not recognizing system changes with the Hybrid Boot feature. I want to use Metro apps! I find that they're absolutely beautiful and make a desktop something synonymous with elder times appear quite attractive.

OH! I should be getting a SSD in the near future, maybe during the summer when newer AMD technologies have been released and I can get my case remodeled, I will have that start up that is of sleep! It literally takes seconds!
