    Windows 8.1 Pro Update 1

At the moment i have a folder titled 'games'. I have dragged it to the taskbar hoping it will create a separate icon for the folder but instead it pinned it in the windows explorer icon. I know have to right click the explorer icon & then select 'games'. Any idea on how to get it out of the explorer list & create a separate icon.

What about right clicking on it and selecting Pin to Taskbar?

Or make it a new Toolbar. Right click on the Taskbar and select Toolbars then New Toolbar. Point it to the Games folder.

You can also Open the folder.
Once Open it will show the icon in the Taskbar.
Then you can right click the icon & choose Pin to Taskbar.

    Hello Jamos,

In addition to the above, you might see if one of the options in the tutorial below may work for you to "Pin to taskbar" a folder.

File explorer - phone folders all treated as music folders
When I connect my Android phone to my computer via USB to access storage, it treats all the folders as music folders - this means that in Details view I don't get "date modified" but "track number", "artist", "album", etc.. despite this being completely irrelevant to the content of all but a single...

I have just installed W8 as dual boot with W7, basically to try it out. I installed Adobe Master Collection and was surprised to see all the 2 dozen apps get a tile each (in metro and search views). Coming from W7, I'm used to things being nice and tidy in start menu folders. If I installed all...
