Hey guys. I'm really desperate, please help me.

I upgraded my Win 8 to Win 8.1. After hiberanation or shutting down a computer I'm stuck on boot screen when I turn it on (there's a win logo and circle stops spinning) and I need than to turn off computer by pressing the turn off button. After the restart there is no problem! And after I forcely shut it down, there is no problem also!

I tried clean install (fresh windows 8.1 with formatted hard disk), refresh your pc, startup repair - nothing helps.

While I was on windwos 8, I didn't have any problems!

I included dump files in this post.

Thank you!

Same thing happened w/my system -it's just not ready for Win8.1

Your errors seem to be hardware related. Please try these diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

trufos.sys Wed Oct 19 05:10:43 2011 (4E9E9413)
Immunet Protect also a part of BitDefender [br] [br] Also - ESTsoft Corp ALYac Security software driver

If all of this doesn't fix it, I'd have to wonder about the compatibility of your system with Win8.1. To test, roll back to Win8 to see if you still have problems.

Thank you! I had same problem few months ago when I tried Win 8.1 preview and when I got back to Win 8 everything was ok again. So I don't think is hardware. I'll try with the driver update.
Other thing is that after fresh install of 8.1 it worked ok couple of times and than ive got sod.
I just wonder why I dont have this freeze after restart or force shutdown?

My Computer

System One

  • OS
    Windows 8.1
This portion of the error is what says (to me) that it's hardware or a compatibility issue:
BugCheck 124, {0, ffffe0000169f4f8, 0, 0}
BugCheck Info: WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR (124)
Another symptom is that there's only six (6) 3rd party drivers in the memory dump.
This means (to me) that it's most likely either a Windows problem (not including compatibility) or a hardware problem.
Windows problems are much less likely, so again we're faced with compatibility or hardware.

Good luck!
