Downgrade from 8.1 to 8

My laptop came with Windows 8, which I HATE! After reading about 8.1 and that some of the features of win 7 would be available, I downloaded and install 8.1 from the win 8 play store. Well, it has slowed my laptop down, I have lost at least two apps that I know of, so far, it has wiped out my saved passwords, and a lot of other garbage that makes 8.1 worse than 8. Is there a way I can remove this 8.1 crap from my laptop and at least go back to win 8?

Did you create the factory recovery discs?

Yep, this is a MAJOR upgrade, almost a new OS. I will image/clone before I even think about doing the upgrade.

There is no way (that I know of) where one can gracefully downgrade from 8.1 to 8.0 and not lose anything (but I could be wrong) so if someone posts otherwise, than I am stupid as well. Moreover, I'll go on record and state that I think you are going to lose everything! Now, since I have never tried it, I may be wrong again! If so, count me in on the stupid list.

Always best to backup first.

Try the Refresh option. You will lose some apps, but files will be saved.

Maybe ignorant is a better word choice. I would rather be ignorant than stupid. I admit to being ignorant on many things. I don't think I'm stupid.

I think the OP is going to lose in the long run. Another case for backup and imaging.

If he wants to go back to 8 he will lose everything on 8.1 of course.
He can save most of his stuff on a usb drive.

He lost upgrading.
He will lose downgrading.

I keep everything backed up.
