sfc scannow fixed the issue for awhile then i got force logout then i login the same issue reappear...please help fixing this i dont feel like doing fresh install ...

it's because of "something" (if you know what i mean) you've installed on windows 8. windows 8.1 has different files and you should manually remove all traces of that "something" before running sfc again.

Hi,
I too faced the same problem, i found out there are 2 possible solutions

Solution 1 : Reinstall the video driver in safe mode

if solution 1 doesn't work then

Solution 2 : Replacing Windows.UI.Immersive.dll file

Step 1 : go to system32 subfolder in Windows folder (typically
C:\Windows\System32)

Step 2 : Find the Windows.UI.Immersive.dll,check for Date Created attribute(if it is in October 2012,you may have to replace with the recent one)

Step 3 : Goto WinSxS subfolder in Windows folder, search for
Windows.UI.Immersive.dll(which is newer version) ](i found it in C:\Windows\WinSxS\x86_microsoft-windows-windowsuiimmersive_31bf3856ad364e35_6.3.9600.16408_none_c6ca1a15ef5e5709)

Step 4: Replace the older file with the newer one in system32 folder

Step 5: there is a hidden folder called Windows Activation Technologies in root drive(usually
C:\Windows Activation Technologies),replace the older file in the above folder too.
Then restart,
hopefully this solves your problem

IM, you think this explains the superfluity of "Black Screens of Death" we've been seeing lately?

Can you make a short Tutorial showing how to replace that Immersive file? Maybe it can be added into our Tutorials section.

I'd like to try it out the next time I see a Black Screen of Deth.

Anyway, the link you posted brings me to THIS:

Sometimes these sharing sites like "2shared" and others attach viruses to the files you are truing to share, just a warning.

Ah, I see why, the link downloads "iLivid" instead of the file you posted, thats why my AV blocked it.

Recently lost my Windows 8 on my main PC, had to go back to Windows 7.

Hey, thank you for solve this problem (almost). But I can't understand in the step 5, what do you mean by replace the older folder file in the above folder too?? This step makes me confuse. I was replaced the windows.UI.immersive.dll with the new one and it worked to show the metro screen, but suddenly it signed out and logged me again to black screen. I hope this is windows license problem not the graphic card (because my graphic card was outdated). Please reply as soon as possible. :)

Regards Satya

i think that is not a graphic card issue,u have to replace the old Windows.UI.Immersive.dll present in C:\Windows Activation Technologies with the new one(present in C:\Windows\WinSxS.......)
hope this solves your problem

Hi,
you should be replacing the dll file in Windows Activation Technologies as well, which requires special privileges
or you can delete the folder Windows Activation Technologies

I followed these steps and it worked for a few minutes then it logs me out. The big difference is when I get logged out, usually takes 5 minutes the first time, it doesn't go to the black screen I can log in normally again but it logs out in about 30 seconds every time after the first time. I don't know what else to do.

The older file which resides in Windows Activation Technologies replaces "new"dll file which you replace in system32 folder, hence the system logs out.
you need to unhide hidden files and operating system files,to know how refer the link below

How to see hidden files in Windows 8

if you are unable to find the folder, search for the dll file in computer and replace all older versions with new one

I've unhidden them and replaced the file in both Windows Activation Technologies/x86 and Windows Activation Technologies/x64 and it still signs me out. No black screen though, always a normal log in.

after the system logs out, check the date created attribute of dll file if it was created in 2012,you may may have to search for dll in c drive and replace every old dll with new one

All i did was replace the older files in 2 folder with new one and it worked
