Since an update a few days ago my mouse is taking about 2/3 minutes to appear after going back to my PC after it has been left for a while.
I have checked all USB ports, used another mouse but it still has this problem, Once it gets itself going it is fine.

Can anyone help.

Thanks.

Since what updates? How long are you away from your PC? Has the PC entered sleep or hibernation? Please provide additional details.

Hi, thanks for the reply.
Automatic updates from Windows.
It will happen when I`ve been away for about 30 mins, but seems to be Ok after a shorter time.

Sleep or hibernation, I`m unsure of the difference so can`t say.

OK, thanks for that. So can we start off by checking the settings of your current power plan. Go to Control Pane> Power Options> Check Plan settings (mine is set to high performance) and then view your settings. FYI, I don't need the sleep function:

I don't know if it's related but yesterday Windows Updates killed my Touchpad. I had to keyboard into System Restore to back out of it. Then the update seemed to install ok on the next go. Once I got it stable I turned updates off and made a couple of new restore points.

I didn`t really want to leave power on for all time, but a look around settings that I didn`t even know that were there seems to have solved the problem.

Thanks
