Windows 8 is not showing the edition

Im running Windows 8 which came pre installed with my hp notebook, but all I see in system properties is "Windows 8" and I typed "winver" into run and all I see is "Windows 8" and nothing about an edition

I need to know this because I am getting an SSD and will need to make a Windows DVD so I can do a clean install onto it.

Windows 8 Pro

The official Microsoft ISO's are multi edition, core and pro. The TechNet ones are anyway. The product code you enter during the install determines what edition is installed. Where are you getting your install media from? If Windows 8 was preinstalled by the manufacturer it will have an embedded key. Official unmodified Microsoft install media will read it and install the matching version automatically.
